    AP-SWNT: EA-SWNTs synthesized using Ni/Y catalyst, with a narrow diameter distribution peaked at 1.4nm. This material has the highest purity of any commercially available AP-EA-SWNTs (NanoLetters, 2003, 3, 309-314). Our tests of AP-EA-SWNTs from other suppliers with advertised purities of 60-90% show measured purity values in the range of 10-35%. The SWNTs can be dispersed in DMF at concentrations up to 0.05 mg/ml, and can be dispersed in water by using surfactants.

    P2-SWNT: AP-SWNT are purified by air oxidation and subsequently treated to remove the catalyst. The purified material closely approximates the pristine state with low functionality and low chemical doping. Dispersibility is similar to that of the AP-SWNTs.

    P8-SWNT: P3-SWNT derivatized with m-polyaminobenzene sulfonic acid (PABS) to give a water solubility of 5mg/ml. 

     

    P9-SWNT: A SWNT material covalently functionalized with amide groups. P9-SWNT can be dispersed in DMF, alcohols, acetone and water by ultrasonication. Stable dispersions of P9-SWNT in DMF, ethanol and acetone are formed at concentrations less than 1mg/m
